What would happen if you left? 🤔

Are you in a situation where you want to do good but you are met with resistance or worse, attack?

Here's the question that’s on my heart:

What would happen if you withdrew?

What would happen if you withdrew, without yelling or screaming, just leaving with your integrity?

How would you feel?

Could it unknowingly have a positive impact on others?

What would it look like to trust God and continue doing the good that is placed on your heart?

All of these questions arose from a passage of scripture about Jesus healing on the Sabbath (a holy day of rest each week):

“and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to bring charges against Jesus, they (The Pharisees—religious leaders) asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” He said to them, “If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. But the Pharisees went out and plotted how they might kill Jesus.
Aware of this, Jesus withdrew from that place. A large crowd followed him, and he healed all who were ill.
He warned them not to tell others about him. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he has brought justice through to victory. In his name the nations will put their hope.”” Matthew‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If you find yourself in a situation where you want to do good, but the environment’s response is to oppose you…

What would happen if you withdrew?

Sometimes we weigh our decisions based on personal impact (personal pros and cons), but…

What impact would it have on the people around you? The people who are also suffering? The children and family members who look up to you? The people who are watching?

Would it set someone else free?

Could you powerful minister to the hearts of people, heal the sick?

If you are a believer, you have the Holy Spirit in you, and you were not given a Spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

You are loved by God, He delights in you and gives you a living hope.

That is all.

I hope you take a moment to reflect on these questions and evaluate your decisions in light of the bigger calling and impact of your life.

Your action or inaction has an impact beyond you.

Zoom out.

I'm rooting for you Reader!

Hi! I'm Nikki.

This morning when I prayed and asked God to speak, I opened my eyes and saw my late grandfather’s veteran flag folded in a triangle on the living room floor. I have been wanting to buy a case for it and wondered whether I can gift it to my uncle or back to my mom for Christmas. Instead of listening for God’s Word in response to the prayer I just prayed, I take to Google in search of a shadow box for the flag. I find one that is suitable. I also see that most case options have personalization....

When someone says something to you that is not true or offensive, how do you respond? I often respond by saying that’s not true and laying out my evidence/argument to back up that claim. Today, I was reminded to be: Quick to listen Slow to speak, and Slow to anger Have you ever seen someone respond to someone they disagree with by asking a simple question? The question itself breaks down the opponent’s argument without needing to get down in the mud with them. There is something regal and...

If you only knew who we were 10 years prior… They had not prepared for us—the poor, the fatherless, the abandoned, the hood, those with a record, the unbeliever, the party girl, the teenaged father, the unprofessional—to be here… Be here anyway. It will be uncomfortable. You will not fit in. You will meet resistance... You may be the first and you may be the only… But you are not an imposter; you are anointed❗️ It is already written… 📌 “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you...
