Whenever life starts to feel out of alignment, this is the question to ask yourself:
What do I value?
I first answered this question when I completed a self-love journal years ago and it was so eye-opening.
Above all else, I valued freedom.
Understanding this gave me the clarity I needed to make better decisions and an understanding of why I avoided certain decisions altogether.
At that time, I was working in audit & controls where I had very little freedom or time to invest in the other things I valued.
For me to see positive change in my life, I needed to start making life choices that honored my values.
Is there another role that is less rigid and would allow me more freedom?
I followed a similar line of questions and acted on the answers. I changed careers, moved out of a job where I was measured by billable hours, and had more time for my other values like faith and family.
Life design only works if it is value-driven.
Recently, the YouTube algorithm brought me to this great video on establishing a morning routine that I could not wait to share with you.
It teaches you how to create a morning routine that is perfect for you based on what you value and want for the thriving version of yourself.
It reminded me of how life-changing it is when you align your life with your values and vision.
I encourage you to spend some time today answering the question:
What are my top 5 values?
Then, start small…
What is one thing I could do differently to align my daily life to my values?
Need inspiration? Watch the video to the end for an example of one person’s revamped morning routine and start there.
I'm rooting for you Reader!

This morning when I prayed and asked God to speak, I opened my eyes and saw my late grandfather’s veteran flag folded in a triangle on the living room floor. I have been wanting to buy a case for it and wondered whether I can gift it to my uncle or back to my mom for Christmas. Instead of listening for God’s Word in response to the prayer I just prayed, I take to Google in search of a shadow box for the flag. I find one that is suitable. I also see that most case options have personalization....
When someone says something to you that is not true or offensive, how do you respond? I often respond by saying that’s not true and laying out my evidence/argument to back up that claim. Today, I was reminded to be: Quick to listen Slow to speak, and Slow to anger Have you ever seen someone respond to someone they disagree with by asking a simple question? The question itself breaks down the opponent’s argument without needing to get down in the mud with them. There is something regal and...
If you only knew who we were 10 years prior… They had not prepared for us—the poor, the fatherless, the abandoned, the hood, those with a record, the unbeliever, the party girl, the teenaged father, the unprofessional—to be here… Be here anyway. It will be uncomfortable. You will not fit in. You will meet resistance... You may be the first and you may be the only… But you are not an imposter; you are anointed❗️ It is already written… 📌 “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you...
