I’m all out of tips but here’s what I do have…

Today’s newsletter is a little different.

I have been praying daily about the issues of my life and it is 25 minutes before my newsletter is supposed to be delivered to you and all I have are my notes about Jesus.

I don’t have career or life tips…

I don’t have fancy advice…

I don’t have a story to tell…

All I have is the evidence of the work of Jesus in renewing my mind and my heart toward Him.

We all start our relationship with a God of our own making, usually informed by how we relate to people, perhaps people in authority, and pile on the notions we have gathered about religion and spirituality…

But God has been directly renewing my thoughts and heart concerning Him.

Every day when I pray, God speaks to me. He reveals a sequence of chapters and verses in the Bible that are connected (though I don’t know they are until it is revealed).

I pray about the things weighing on me but He knows the questions in my heart and speaks directly to those.

Today, I will share my notes from this morning’s prayer time, which was about not being afraid of God, and I pray it blesses you… 🙏🏾

Matthew 28:9

“Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.””Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus appears to the two women. They worshiped Him but also were afraid. Jesus says don’t be afraid and gives them instructions to carry out. Do not be afraid. God has not come to condemn me. I can worship and still be afraid of God. Don’t be.

Psalm 23

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬

Do not be afraid of making mistakes. God guides me for His name’s sake.

Ephesians 2:4

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬-‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God loves us and for that reason, He made us alive in Christ. We are saved by His grace. He raised us up with Christ that He might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in kindness toward us in Christ. We are God’s handiwork, created in Jesus to do good works, which God has already prepared for us to do. How great is God’s love for us! Do not be afraid of God. He is not trying to test me to punish me, He is not waiting to see if I will do right or wrong; He walks with me and prepared me for good works. His grace saves me. He prepares a table for me. Imagine what life would be like to truly walk in the power and confidence of God, of being all that He called me to be, of knowing that the Holy Spirit indwells me and I do not do life alone. It is not up to me, God leads me for His name’s sake. He loves me dearly. He blesses me, anoints my head with oil, and graces me to do all that He has prepared for me to do. His goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life, not His wrath and condemnation. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus… and we live in Christ Jesus. We are made righteous by faith. We are saved, called, and redeemed for the Lord. Don’t fall into old patterns of relationship. God is not abusive, controlling, manipulative. God is love. Let Him teach you love.

This morning when I prayed and asked God to speak, I opened my eyes and saw my late grandfather’s veteran flag folded in a triangle on the living room floor. I have been wanting to buy a case for it and wondered whether I can gift it to my uncle or back to my mom for Christmas. Instead of listening for God’s Word in response to the prayer I just prayed, I take to Google in search of a shadow box for the flag. I find one that is suitable. I also see that most case options have personalization....

When someone says something to you that is not true or offensive, how do you respond? I often respond by saying that’s not true and laying out my evidence/argument to back up that claim. Today, I was reminded to be: Quick to listen Slow to speak, and Slow to anger Have you ever seen someone respond to someone they disagree with by asking a simple question? The question itself breaks down the opponent’s argument without needing to get down in the mud with them. There is something regal and...

If you only knew who we were 10 years prior… They had not prepared for us—the poor, the fatherless, the abandoned, the hood, those with a record, the unbeliever, the party girl, the teenaged father, the unprofessional—to be here… Be here anyway. It will be uncomfortable. You will not fit in. You will meet resistance... You may be the first and you may be the only… But you are not an imposter; you are anointed❗️ It is already written… 📌 “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you...
